Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce has made a less-than-surprising revelation about his pot-smoking, stripper-watching viral video that led to the Hall of famer’s firing at ESPN in 2021: He was drunk.
‘Alcohol,’ he explained in a promo for his new Fox reality show. ‘Lot of alcohol.’
Pierce, 45, was fired by ESPN as an analyst in April of 2021 when the married father of three posted a video on social media, showing himself enjoying exotic dancers and some marijuana.
He was dismissed by the cable giant only a few days later, and as Pierce explained to disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong on the upcoming Fox reality show, Stars on Mars, it was entirely his fault.
When asked how the video ended up on social media, Pierce admitted: ‘I accidentally did, my dumb ass.’

Armstrong responded to the revelation by asking: ‘Bitch, how old are you?’
As Pierce explained, he spent that evening in April of 2021 playing poker at his friend’s home.
‘I was at my boy’s birthday party,’ Pierce said. ‘We was playing poker… And it was girls just there dancing… It was a big whole controversy. I mean it wasn’t nothing illegal, but it was just girls … girls shaking their ass.’
Pierce admitted that he lost his job over the sleazy clip, but he does see a silver lining.
“Maybe I wouldn’t be on Mars if that didn’t happen,’ Pierce said. ‘See? Everything happens for a reason.”
