A pub is selling the world’s largest Sunday roast which weighs four pounds and contains a whopping 30,000 calories.

Cattlemans Steakhouse, in Paignton, Devon, which is famed for their large food challenges, created the gut-busting grub which has so far been completed by just one brave customer Max Stanford.

The Holy Roast Challenge consists of a 20oz steak, 12oz gammon, a chicken breast, 12oz of roast potatoes and four Yorkshire puddings.

The humongous feat also includes one large portion of stuffing, six portions of vegetables, eight cocktail sausages and a baguette.

To top it off, the calorific meal comes with two pints of gravy. The entire roast weighs just over four pounds – the same as a MacBook Pro 14.

Manager Aaron King said: ‘We serve Sunday roasts and we were thinking of how to make it into a food challenge.

‘We already have burger and steak challenges so we wanted to try something different.

‘It’s quite the feat. Only two people have attempted it and one of them managed to completed it. It’s estimated to have 30,000 calories.

‘It’s the biggest Sunday roast in the UK. I haven’t seen another one that large.’

Pictures of the monster meal next to Max Stanford, who finished the whopping lunch, shows the loaded plate looking the same size as his torso.

The large spread is covered in various meats, potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, parsnips and carrots.

Punters also receive a large bucket of gravy to drown the roast in.

The fattening food costs £48 but if a punter manages to polish it off they get it for free.

Mr King added: ‘Sometimes people can’t complete it so they take it home with them. It’s enough food for a week, there’s no wastage.

‘We serve really good quality food. You don’t just get a bog standard roast. The challenger who completed it, Max Stanford, also known as Max vs Food, said it was the best steak he had ever had.’

Mr King claimed food lovers from around the world have visited the restaurant to try its challenges.

He added: ‘We had a team of people come from China try our challenges and America. Food lovers come from all over the country.’
