Simon Cowell dressed as a priest as he reunited with The X Factor star Lucy Spraggan for a murder mystery party hosted by himself and girlfriend Lauren Silverman.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Lucy, 32, shared a slew of snaps from the evening – where she was joined by her best friend-turned-girlfriend Emilia.

In the post, Lucy revealed that the talent show judge, 64, had very convincingly faked his own death as part of the murder mystery night.

Lucy beamed alongside Simon in the pictures, while the music mogul also cosied up to his long-time partner Lauren, 46.

The Last Night singer appeared on the ITV talent competition in 2012 and was the first contestant in history to have a Top 40 single before the show aired – however she left midway through after suffering a horrific ordeal behind the scenes.

She has kept in touch with Simon since appearing on the show, and in her post revealed she had also seen him in January.

‘So, back in Jan in Barbados I showed Simon & the fam my favourite game ever Werewolf (as you all already know),’ Lucy wrote in the caption.

‘After we’d finished a few rounds and everyone was pointing the werewolf blame at each other it was revealed that none of us had ever done a murder mystery. Well, that had to be corrected.’

Lucy continued: ‘Fast forward to last Saturday when Simon and Lauren hosted THE most hilarious, engaging and entertaining evening of Murder Mystery. Not to mention some INSANE food.

‘We all got dressed up to the nines and properly got stuck in… Simon, as the local reverend, faked a death at one point that I thought was real for a good 30 seconds.’

Lucy finished off the post by saying she was ‘delighted’ to reveal she had triumphed as the murder mystery night’s winner, and sent her love to Simon and Lauren for hosting.

In 2012, Lucy left The X Factor for reasons which were put down to ‘illness’ at the time.

However in 2023, she wrote a memoir Process: Finding My Way Through and detailed that she had in fact been raped by a porter in the hotel she was put up in for the ITV show after a night out with fellow contestant Rylan Clark.

Scouted for the competition at just 20, Lucy said how she felt ‘hugely let down’ by ITV as she explained why she was forced to leave the show.

Joining Christine Lampard on Lorraine last year, she explained:  ‘I was hugely let down by the production companies.

‘There is a chapter in my book titled, Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word, which is about that.’

She continued: ‘I emailed the companies and told them I was writing this memoir and I got a reply from Syco asking if Simon could call me.

‘I thought I was going to get this call and feel super angry, but he was the first person to apologise and that just made things so much better for me.’

The assault is said to have happened after fellow contestant Rylan’s 25th birthday party, where staff and singers were given ‘free alcohol’ – ultimately leading to Lucy falling unconscious.

Elsewhere, she told of how Rylan was ‘incredible’ as she recalled how his actions helped her get a conviction.

The musician said: ‘Rylan was incredible he was the first person I told, he went and called the police.

‘Rylan was an absolute pivotal point of there being a conviction. He guarded the room and made sure no one went in, so they didn’t contaminate the evidence.

‘When Rylan came back, he came to check on me and pushed the door shut, and by him closing that door, the man that came into my room had to let himself back in with a traceable key card.’

Having previously been a gigging artist, the X Factor was the singer’s big break and she became the first contestant to play an instrument and sing her own song Last Night in her audition, which became the world’s fourth-most watched video that year.

But having made it through three live shows, the brutal attack left her unable to continue the show due to strong side effects of Pep medication – a drug given to her by doctors which can prevent someone contracting HIV.

The hotel porter who raped Lucy was quietly deported to India after serving less than half of his 10-year prison sentence, MailOnline revealed.

Then aged 24, Soby John used his staff key card to sneak into the singer-songwriter’s room at the Hilton London Metropole before raping her. The horrifying fallout of the attack forced her to pull out of The X Factor.

John, who had been on a student visa from India, was jailed for 10 years in April 2013. But he was sent back to his home country on January 30, 2017 – after serving less than four years behind bars for his sickening assault.

The Home Office declined to comment specifically on John’s deportation when approached by MailOnline at the time.

But a spokeswoman did say: ‘Foreign nationals who commit crimes here in the UK will face the full force of the law, including deportation at the earliest opportunity for those eligible.’
