A British father was arrested for attempted murder on holiday – but his family have pleaded their innocence, saying he was not even in the country at the time.

Thomas Nolan, 19, was detained after flying to Canada with his wife Eileen Delaney and one-year-old son.

Toronto police charged him over an alleged car-ramming attack in June – despite Ms Delaney’s claims that the family did not go on holiday to Canada until August.

Eileen took to Facebook to share her husband’s ordeal, claiming that her husband is not guilty and blaming a sinister lookalike for the crime.
