Faye Browne is often mistaken for being in her 40s or 50s thanks to her effortlessly fun fashion sense, toned physique and magnetic flair for life.

In reality, the fabulous mum-of-three, who runs popular fashion label Motto with her daughter Lauren, just celebrated her 70th birthday.

The brand has an enormous following online thanks to celebrities like Julia Morris raving about the uber-flattering designs. The brand’s sell-out ‘Miracle Pants’ are said to shed one dress size instantly and were just re-launched due to overwhelming demand.

‘People are always amazed when I tell them my real age – two men I met after my birthday party nearly fell over when I said I’m 70… they thought I was 40!’ Faye, a breast cancer survivor, told FEMAIL.

‘I look after myself and my attitude towards life is “young”. I love thinking forward, I love new, I love current, and I never live in the past or think I know it all. The older I get, the better I get.’

Faye, from Melbourne, revealed the age-defying secrets she has learned over the years – from not drinking alcohol to meditating daily and thinking ‘young’.

The ‘miracle pants’ that put Faye and Motto on the map

As the numbers climb and the waitlist grows shorter by the minute, it’s evident that the Miracle Pant has struck a chord with those seeking both comfort and couture.

The smoothing leather-look Miracle Pant 2.0 promises to ‘instantly slim and sculpt’ without taking away from the wearer’s natural curves.

Faye and Lauren also make the bold claim that the new 2024 pants will see you ‘drop a dress size instantly’ while giving your booty a natural lift and ‘securing any and all wobbly bits’.

The 'miracle pant' is designed to flatter nearly every body type and age

Ahead of the launch there were more than 35,000 people on the waitlist and 1,500 pre-sales for the drop, thanks to reviewers who labelled them, among other things, ‘pure magic’.

‘It instantly slims and sculpts, giving me the confidence to embrace my curves,’ one wrote.

‘This is the pant I’ve been waiting for. It’s a wardrobe essential,’ another added.

The brand also offers a sculpting Miracle Skirt that all who have tried dub ‘the first of its kind’

Faye radiates confidence from the inside and out – she’s a go-getter, a successful business woman and would never consider herself ‘old’.

Every decade she’s lived she’s learnt something new – thanks in part to the many hurdles she’s faced.

During her childhood and adolescent years she never thought she was beautiful and struggled looking in the mirror. But now looking back at old photos, she doesn’t understand why.

‘I’ve change this negative thinking but I wish I had never thought that way to begin with – it’s wasted energy,’ she said.

A clean diet and no alcohol

Faye is disciplined when it comes to her diet. Despite having a passion for Italian food she’s educated herself and learned what’s best for her body.

In the morning she makes a protein smoothie with a scoop of collagen powder, followed by green tea at 10am.

She enjoys lunch at 2pm which is often a massive salad with chickpeas, lentils, red cabbage, feta, herbs, olive oil, chilli, tomato and red meat.

For dinner she enjoys a light meal, such as a salad with eye fillet steak or soup. Then for dessert she has yoghurt and fruit.

One thing she never does is snack. She also doesn’t drink coffee or alcohol and doesn’t have sugar as she doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth.

Mindset is everything

Faye starts her day at 5am with a one-hour meditation session to help keep her mind active and at the top of its game.

She started her journey of learning about anti-ageing in her early 40s when her three children were all under the age of four.

‘If you live in the past or start thinking you’re old, you actually become old,’ she said.

She also doesn’t bother with Botox or filler – though she has had it in the past.

What are Faye’s secrets to ageing the best and healthiest you can?

Live in the now – keep up to date with the latest music, movies, trends and books

You are what you eat – stay healthy and eat fresh food, never junk food

Exercise regularly and do at least 10,000 steps a day

Invest in skincare, but don’t have too many products

Don’t smoke or drink alcohol – it causes wrinkles

Don’t bother with Botox or filler

Don’t tan in the sun

Never think you’re old

A glimpse throughout the decades

When Faye turned 50 and started menopause she had a minor meltdown over how to stay young, so she prioritised learning about healthy eating, diet and exercise.

Before she had kids she used to be a dancer but after becoming a mum it took 12 years for her to get back into a regular exercise routine.

By 60 she had another blow and was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a double mastectomy and chemotherapy treatment.

‘I thought I was going to die at first. But I was given a second chance at life and now the older I get, the better I get,’ she said.

At the time she also came to the realisation she ‘wasn’t living life the right way’ and went through another huge change.

Now Faye does what she loves, exercises twice a week with a professional trainer, does at least 15,000 steps a day and still works full-time on her business

‘I learnt that I wasn’t nurturing or loving myself, so I went on this whole self-love journey,’ she said.

By 65 she felt yet another change on the horizon.

‘I wasn’t as switched on as I used to be, and that to me felt like I was getting older. I didn’t like it at all. The biggest change was the lack of sleep,’ she said.

Faye described sleep as the ‘wonder drug’ that will help ‘keep you young forever’, so when her sleeping pattern was disturbed she felt it physically and mentally.

It took three years to get her evening routine back on track and sorted her sleep out after coming across the NMN supplement

Now she does what she loves, exercises twice a week with a professional trainer, does at least 15,000 steps a day and still works full-time on her business.

‘When people retire they think they will go on trips or do whatever they want, but they don’t,’ she said, adding: ‘The word ‘retirement’ changes your mindset and makes you feel old in itself.’

By 60 she had another blow and was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a double mastectomy and chemotherapy treatment. 'I thought I was going to die at first. But I was given a second chance at life and now the older I get, the better I get,' she said (pictured during cancer treatment)

At 70 she shows no signs of slowing down in any way and runs a business full-time alongside her daughter Lauren.

Faye said another ‘secret to life’ is to ‘do what you love’ because it keeps you young’.

She has always adored fashion and for the last 39 years she’s run her own clothing brand Motto. She’s passionate about making people feel beautiful and look their best.

‘Edgy, cool and current’ were the three words used to describe her own personal style along with the slogan ‘classic with an edge’.

Last year she released a ‘miracle pant’ designed to flatter every body type.

‘What you wear makes such a difference to your self-esteem and it’s so empowering. The idea for the faux leather pants came from that,’ she said.

The smoothing leather-look Miracle Pant promises to ‘instantly slim and sculpt’ without taking away from the wearer’s natural curves.

The secret, they say, is in the ‘strategic seams and stitching’ that flatter the body in all the right places.

Backed by celebrities including TV personality Julia Morris, the slacks can be styled for both work and play and come in three colours: black, brown and ruby red.

Within a mere 48 hours of its new 2024 launch, an astonishing 50 per cent of the collection has already found its way into the hands of eager fashion enthusiasts.
