England’s World Cup preparation has been hampered by positive Covid-19 Tests for Shaunagh Brown and Sadia Kabeya.

Prop Brown has been ruled out of the Red Roses’ tournament opener with Fiji on Saturday as she will now begin a seven-day isolation period as required under guidelines in tournament host country New Zealand. Brown’s room-mate Kabeya tested positive last week.

She has since completed her isolation period and will be available to face Fiji.

As a result of two positive cases, Simon Middleton’s squad were forced to undergo a full round of Covid-19 testing. No further positive cases have been recorded.

England are firm favourites for World Cup glory in the southern hemisphere and have won their last 25 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Bath have confirmed the loan signings of Worcester’s Ted Hill, Ollie Lawrence, Fergus Lee-Warner and Valery Morozov.

Sportsmail revealed on Monday the four players would leave the Warriors in search of regular training and playing time while the Sixways outfit remain in administration and suspended from all competitions. The quartet join a Bath squad which has been ravaged by injury so far this season.
