USC Trojans guard Bronny James is set to have a checkup at the end of this month according to his father LeBron James.
If Bronny is cleared, he will return to practice with the intention of returning to the court later this season.
Bronny was also showed during the broadcast watching USC’s season opening game from the bench.
USC was taking on Kansas State when the information was revealed by courtside reporter Allie LaForce.
The USC freshman famously suffered cardiac arrest during a team workout over the summer.

Last season fellow Trojan, Vincent Iwuchukwu suffered cardiac arrest but returned to play
USC dealt with a similar situation last year when big man Vincent Iwuchukwu suffered from cardiac arrest in July before eventually returning to the court in January to play 14 games.
‘Bronny’s doing very well,’ Enfield said following a practice earlier this year.
‘But we just can’t comment on anything medically. He’s going to class and doing extremely well in school, and we’re really excited for him.’
After Bronny spent three days in a local LA hospital the James family released a statement saying that a congenital heart defect was the probable cause of the soon-to-be 19-year-old’s cardiac arrest.
‘He’s around when he can be,’ Enfield said of James. ‘And he’s getting caught up [with] some schoolwork and doing very well. His grades are excellent right now, and he’s being the true student-athlete.’
