‘Make sure you cool them right down,’ Anita posted on Instagram.

‘Add one egg at a time to a short, sturdy glass straight from your cold water. Cover the glass with your hand and shake vigorously.’

She continued: ‘Shake up, shake down, shake it all around’.

When you do this, the cracked egg ‘will release easily from its shell like when a snake sheds its skin’.

Anita added: ‘I did about 25 eggs in under five minutes’.

Thousands who saw the tip thanked Anita for sharing it, writing things like ‘great tip, thank you’ and ‘wish I saw this earlier this morning’.

Others shared their own tips for peeling hard-boiled eggs quickly.

‘We boil a lot of eggs in our household and what I do is once the egg is boiled I get a heavy butter knife and use the handle to tap each egg a few times, breaking it. I let the eggs sit in the hot water until they cool down and the shell literally slides off in a second!’ one person wrote.

Another posted: ‘Add some water to the glass too. That’s works’.
