‘If I never eat another steak, it’s not a big deal’: Jonathan Ross reveals he’s lost a stone on his teetotal, liquid only, vegan diet yet admits he ‘misses some stuff’ and is ‘no poster boy’ for regime
Jonathan Ross has lost a stone thanks to a liquid-only diet.
The TV star, 60, who went vegan and teetotal last year – shed 14lbs in just four weeks after he switched to vegan shake diet Huel.
Speaking candidly about his lifestyle overhaul, he said: ‘I’ve been living off liquid food as I wanted to lose weight. Now I just get up and have my chocolate milkshake – it’s easier. I’m old. I’ve eaten enough great food in my life.
‘When I gave up booze, I realised I’d had more than my fair share already. If I never eat another steak, it’s not a big deal. We’re trying to be sustainable.’

But Jonathan was quick to point out that he is not necessarily an advocate for a vegan diet, admitting that even he has the odd craving.
He said: ‘You do miss stuff. I’ve eaten eggs once or twice but accidentally. It hasn’t changed me at all – I’m not a poster boy for a vegan diet.’
It comes after his fellow television star and celebrity chef Nigella Lawson, 61, tried and failed to stick to a vegan diet, quitting after just two weeks.
She previously said: ‘I couldn’t be vegan, though I do love vegetables.

I don’t see the point. I’m very happy to not eat so much meat, but I do love it.’
In response to her decision to put her plant-based diet on the backburner, Jonathan joked: ‘Nigella has never had much of a backbone!’
His health update comes after Jonathan revealed his daughter Betty, 30, has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a long-term condition that causes chronic pain.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, the TV star, who also shares Harvey, 27, and Honey, 24, with wife Jane Goldman, detailed her plight and revealed that the family initially believed Betty to be dealing with long COVID.
In light of the news, Jonathan cancelled his legendary Halloween party over fears that he’ll create a ‘superspreader’ event while Betty was ill upstairs. He said: ‘One of our children isn’t well… it’ss fibromyalgia which is quite debilitating…
‘She’s back home with us and we’re looking after her. She’s upstairs and I thought, ‘I can’t in good conscience have a big loud fun party downstairs and one of my kids is locked in a room upstairs’. It would be like something out of a horror novel’.
