A major crime scene has been established after a woman was found dead inside a home following reports by neighbors that a man was ‘behaving erratically’.
Officers rushed to a house on Grevillea Crescent at Hoppers Crossing in west Melbourne about 1:15pm on Tuesday and ‘apprehended’ a man with serious upper body injuries.
The man in his 50s was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital under police guard.
During a search of the property the woman’s body was discovered.

‘Responding police located a man behaving erratically who was apprehended at the scene and taken to hospital with serious injuries,’ police said in a statement.
‘The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
‘Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident at this time and the parties involved are believed to be known to each other.’
The woman is yet to be formally identified.
Crime scene tape has been set up on opposite ends of the street and several emergency vehicles, including a police van, were seen on location as the incident took place.
