SZA revealed why she had her breast implants removed while appearing on Mary Alice Haney and board-certified OB/GYN Dr. Thais Aliabadi’s S.H.E MD podcast.

The four-time Grammy winner’s decision came after learning she had a 53% lifetime risk of developing the disease due to her family history.

While her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and aunt underwent a mastectomy, the singer, 34, said that she didn’t initially understand the risks associated with breast implants.

‘When I got my boobs done, my doctor took out some of my fibrosis, but there was so much fibrosis, it was crazy,’ SZA said. ‘And he took it out. And so, when I went back, a lot of the concerns were gone.’

She continued: ‘I like seeing somebody spiritual about it, specifically the breast cancer situation and the marker before I had the results of the biopsy and all that, I had talked to somebody, because I was like, I got to figure out what’s going on in the higher realms.’

The performer confessed that she was supposed to see Dr. Aliabadi before getting her implants due to her higher risk of breast cancer, but opted to just quietly get the procedure anyway.

‘I have markers in my breast, like metal markers in my breast for these fibrosis, for these lumps or whatever, I’m not supposed to be getting breast implants,’ SZA explained.

Due to her fibrosis, SZA said the implants ‘ended up hurting’ her.

‘I got way too much scar tissue because my breasts are too dense and I’m not supposed to have breast implants. And so I ended up getting extra fibrosis like with tissue, whatever, and I didn’t feel good and it was painful. So, I took them out, and now, they’re just my boobs,’ she told listeners.

Sza has been open about going under the knife, most recently getting a Brazilian butt lift.

‘I treat my butt like a purse. It’s just there to enhance whatever else. And that’s why I paid for it because it works all by itself,’ she told Elle last year.

The Kill Bill hitmaker added: ‘I always wanted a really fat a** with less gym time. I didn’t succumb to industry pressure.’

‘I succumbed to my own eyes in the mirror and being like, ‘No, I need some more a**,’ the star explained.

In her 2018 track, Garden, she sang about her insecurity in the verse: ‘Lie to me and say my booty gettin’ bigger even if it ain’t/ You know I’m sensitive ’bout havin’ no booty.’

Last year, however, she called other claims that she had work done on her face ‘offensive.’

‘That sh*t is low-key offensive. Not low-key, it’s high-key offensive,’ she told Wall Street Journal last year. ‘But what am I supposed to do? Post a debunking thread? That’s crazy. You would rather believe the TikTok thread. You would rather believe whatever Twitter thread; you could just google yourself and figure out.’

SZA went on to say: ‘There’s clear instances when I talked about my freckles. I heard I had a facelift, I heard I had a nose job, I heard my teeth were fake.’

The St. Louis native previously shut down the idea that she lacks confidence to Rolling Stone.

‘People be like, ‘Insecurity is her brand.’ It’s like, ‘No, bitch, I’m honest with how I feel about myself, but if I catch you saying that, it’s going to be different. I’ll still beat your ass over disrespecting me,’ she told the outlet.
