Former 10 News First reporter Natasha Exelby admitted earlier this month to drink driving after crashing her new Kia Sports Plus into a parked car in Toorak while four times over the limit.

And now footage has resurfaced of the moment Exelby, 34, purchased the vehicle from a Melbourne dealership and bragged about her ‘five star safety rating’.

The video was posted by Exelby to Instagram in March, and she is seen beaming in front of her new car and hugging the salesman as she ironically tells her fans she runs no risk of crashing the vehicle.

‘I got myself a new adult car! It was time for Tash to grow up so I got myself a new Kia Sports Plus. It is so exciting,’ she began.

‘Most importantly, it has a five star safety rating. I was taken care of by beautiful Josh and all of the team at Kia.

‘No crashes for Tash, because remember, five star safety rating!’ she adds and gives the camera a thumbs up sign.

One of Exelby’s followers cheekily noted she later crashed that very vehicle.

‘Is this the car you crashed when you were driving drunk?’ they asked.

Exelby fronted the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court last week where she escaped conviction after admitting to drink driving and driving while suspended.

The former 10 News First reporter was busted earlier this year driving more than four times over the legal limit.

Exelby – who last year spoke bravely of her mental health struggles on Studio 10 – drove a white Kia Cerato into a parked car along Orrong Rd in Toorak on June 26.

Two police officers attended the scene and conducted a preliminary breath test, detecting alcohol.

Exelby allegedly told police she had only consumed ‘two seltzers’ and that she did not believe she was driving while suspended.

However, ‘an evidentiary breath test later revealed she had an alleged blood alcohol concentration of .220,’ the Herald Sun reported.

In a statement, Exelby, who quit morning show Studio 10 last December, took ‘full responsibility’ for her actions.
