Mamukkoya Wife Suhara: Who Is She? Mamukkoya, the well-known Malayalam actor, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the age of 77. His family, including his wife and children, are mourning his loss.

The actor had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Kozhikode, where he ultimately passed away at 1:10 pm. He had suffered a stroke on Monday night while participating in a football tournament-related event in the Malappuram district and was rushed to the hospital.

Despite medical efforts, Mamukkoya could not recover and passed away on Wednesday afternoon. His death has resulted in an outpouring of condolences and sadness on social media from both celebrities and the general public.

Mamukkoya and his wife, Suhara, were married, but the details of their marriage have not been made public. However, they had four children together over the course of several decades of marriage, namely Muhammed Nisar, Shahitha, Nadiya, and Abdul Rasheed. The family lived a happy life in Kozhikode near Beypore, as can be seen in pictures of Mamukoya and his family on social media sites. Mamukoya originated in Kerala, India. He was born to his parents on July 5, 1946, in Calicut, Madras Presidency, and spent most of his childhood there.

In fact, he also died in Kozhikode, Kerala, after getting treatment following a heart attack in the hospital. 

His parents are Chalikandiyil Muhammed and Imbachi Ayisha. However, we have no information on them except for their identity.

As a result, we cannot specify his ethnicity. Chalikandiyil and Imbachi had two children together. One of them is Mamukoya, while the other one is named Koyakutty.

Around 8 pm on Monday, Mamukoya had a heart arrest while attempting to open the Pooongodu Janakeeya Sevens competition in Malappuram.

Before the inauguration, he began to feel queasy and sweaty, so he was sent to a private hospital in Wandoor.

Malayalam Actor And Comedian Mamukoya Career Achievements

Mamukoya was a renowned Malayalam actor and comedian who made a significant impact on the film industry during his career. He began his acting journey in the 1970s as a theatre artist and went on to make his film debut in 1985 with the movie “My Dear Kuttichathan”.

Mamukoya’s unique style of comedy and dialogue delivery earned him immense popularity among the audience, and he went on to act in over 450 movies throughout his career. He also received several accolades for his performances, including the Kerala State Film Award for Best Comedian multiple times.

Some of his notable roles include his performances in movies like “Kilukkam”, “Godfather”, “Thenmavin Kombath”, “Manichitrathazhu”, “Nadodikkattu”, and many more. He also acted in a few Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi movies.

Apart from acting, Mamukoya was also a talented singer and has sung in several movies. He was also involved in philanthropic activities and worked towards the welfare of the society.

Mamukoya’s contribution to the Malayalam film industry and his unique style of comedy continue to be cherished by fans and fellow artists even after his passing.


In Gandhinagar Second Street, he was cast in a role. He carved out a niche in Malayalam cinema by depicting Gafoor in Sathyan Anthikkad’s Mohanlal-Sreenivasan-starrer Nadodikkattu in 1987.

In Kerala, the figure of Gafoor has developed a cult following. Later, a cartoon series based on this character was made.

His critically acclaimed performance in Perumazhakkalam (2004) showed that he is equally adept at playing roles that aren’t comedic.

He reprised a similar role in Byari, which received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film.

He played the titular character in the 2001 film Korappan, the Great, in which he was portrayed as a forest brigand similar to Veerappan.

For the film, he earned a Special Mention in the Kerala State Film Award in 2004.
