Staff intervened, and he had to be removed from the field using bold cutters. He was standing with a zip-tie around his neck and took a huge number of officers to remove him from the ground.
However, ‘Just Stop Oil’ took to social media shortly after the incident on Thursday to claim responsibility. During his protest, Louis has worn a shirt with the same slogan, “Just Stop Oil.”
“I’m about to disrupt a football match, and I’m terrified,” Louis said in the video, which was shot before Everton’s match against Newcastle United.
“It’s 2022, and it’s time to look up, time to take action rather than sit on the sidelines.” The group captioned a pre-recorded video message by the 21-year-old, “It’s time to act like it’s an emergency.”
The campaign, Just Stop Oil, wishes to mobilize “people from all forms of life to oppose the plans for new UK oil fields” in 2022.
According to local police, he was arrested on suspicion of pitch intrusion.

Previously, he has worked at Bennett’s Fish and Chips in Weymouth, England, as a waiter and kitchen employee. From September 2018 to November 2019, he worked at a Co-op as a gross sales assistant to make a living.
He is raising awareness about the negative effects of oil, and believes that people need to be aware of what the future may hold.”I believe that as many people as possible should be aware of what the future may hold,” McKechnie said.
McKechnie had previously served a three-month sentence for a separate protest and was released in January.
