Police have launched a manhunt after an attempted child abduction in Perth.

Cops were called in after a man walked up to a girl and grabbed her shirt at the corner of Axminster and Exeter Street in Warnbro, in the south of the city, at about 2.40pm.

The girl fought back, breaking free before running away.

The man decided not to pursue the child before returning to his silver or grey sedan before driving off.
