Adele has boasted her love of booze means she can now ‘drink anyone under the f***ing table’ as she opened up on her battle to stay grounded during her shows.

The singing sensation, 35, who has been on and off sober for 18 months, also revealed she has decided to end her self-imposed alcohol ban.

She placed sobering restrictions on herself for her Vegas residency at The Colosseum Caesar Palace as she said red wine plays havoc with her voice.

And with a break on the horizon, Adele has revealed she is ready to pick up a glass of wine as she said she is still a rockstar and can drink anyone under the table.

Speaking to the crowd in Las Vegas, she said: ‘I do like a drink. I can’t lie. (I have) definitely cut it back, especially since I’ve become a mum and I’ve become a professional artist, but easily, easily, easily could drink any one of you under the f***ing table.

‘And maybe it’s the Brit in me. But the stability that this has given a bunch of basically rockstars that are working and including the crew and everybody like that is second to none. And it’s given us peace of mind.’

But the London-born sensation, residing in Los Angeles, said the sobriety has calmed her down, but she now feels concerned about being over-stimulated by life.

She admitted that she has turned to watching Harry Potter films to keep herself in check, as she said she lives a ‘ping, pong’ lifestyle.

‘Being a musician, even if you sing piano ballads you are a bit of a rockstar’, she added.

‘I’m sorry because the kind of lifestyle you end up living like ‘ping, pong, ping, pong’ all of us are addicted to something.’

Adele, the biggest-selling UK artist of the 21st Century, candidly opened up to her captivated crowd as she confessed that she also has a phone ban.

She revealed she had been living a ‘rather boring’ life but said she had to give up her mobile because she was overstimulated and ‘hanging by a thread’.

‘I figured if I go back and live in fake stories and things like that, like Harry Potter and wizards and s**t like that, then maybe I’ll get my innocence back because I’m exhausted’, she added.

‘I’m absolutely exhausted from how fast everything is moving. I can’t cope.’

Last year, the Oscar winner admitted her tolerance to her beloved Vino had diminished drastically.

Adele opened up on her booze battle and told crowds: ‘I stopped drinking, but obviously now I’m ready to start again because it is my break.

‘And I can’t drink red wine ever when I’m singing because I don’t know about you, but red wine f***s me up. I cannot handle it. I’m a white wine girl, but not straight.

‘But I can’t drink white wine anymore. I’m 35 going on 85 ‘I have to have half and half.

‘Half sparkling water and half white wine with ice. Half sparkling water and half white wine with ice.

‘And I still get f****d. But a glass of red wine tips me over the edge. I have the worst hangover, my whole mouth and tongue turns red.

‘I look like a disaster and it just gets rid of my voice.’

In October, Adele revealed she had stopped drinking for three and a half months and claimed she was ‘borderline alcoholic’ when she was in her 20s.’

Adele told the crowd at one of her Vegas gigs: ‘I stopped drinking maybe like three and a half months ago. It’s boring. I mean, I was literally borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my twenties, but I miss it so much. I cut out caffeine.’

‘So enjoy your whiskey sour. I’m very, very jealous’, she added.

In March, Adele also revealed she once drank four bottles of wine before lunch during a Covid-19 lockdown.

Speaking to the crowd in Las Vegas ahead of her upcoming break, the star explained how she was excited to have a tipple again now she has some time off from the live shows

She was holding a glass of wine on stage in Las Vegas while making the confession.

The blonde beauty told fans: ‘I remember when I came here in Covid, in lockdown, it was 11am and I was definitely like four bottles of wine in – like we all were.

‘I said in 2020 that I wanted to put my album out. And we were all at home just drunk basically.’

In 2023, Adele told Oprah Winfrey during a CBS interview she had ‘stopped drinking’ in the wake of her estranged dad, Mark Evans, dying from bowel cancer in May 2021.

Adele, who lost more than seven stone after cutting booze from her diet, said: ‘I stopped drinking.

‘That’s one great way of really sort of getting to know yourself, is just drinking water and being sober as anything.’

The hitmaker has reportedly said that her Las Vegas residency has ‘brought me back to life’ after confirming she will extend her run.

She opened up to her fans and allegedly admitted that the show had been the highlight of her career.

According to The Sun, she said: ‘ I feel so safe in here. My life is tiny. I don’t really leave my house and that’s by choice. My life used to be massive when I was younger. But it is like the bigger my career has got, the more scared and anxious I have become.’

‘I hang out with my dogs, my son and my boyfriend, and chat away with my housekeeper. On Friday and Saturdays, I really look forward to coming [to Vegas] and it feels like having a night out and seeing my friends. It’s brought me back to life.’

She added: ‘I usually get butterflies and get nervous and I say a little stage prayer and cross my fingers, but I don’t get anxious with these shows. It has been the best four months of my career. This show has brought me so much joy. I have loved doing it.’

But Adele’s decision to cut out drinking was not a choice made over night as she had some awkward encounters in the past when she had one too many.

In February 2022, drunk Adele was left sobbing after overindulging in drinks at a gay bar in London.

She stripped down to her bra, pole-danced on stage in front of topless dancers and fell over.
